Muktinath Temple is a sacred place both for Hindus and Buddhists located in Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La pass, Mustang district, Nepal. The Hindus call the sacred place Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the "place of salvation". Mainly the temple is a predominant Sri Vaishnava origin and worshipped by Buddhists. This temple is considered to be the 105th among the available 108 Divya Desam. The ancient name of this place, before Buddhist origin is known as Thiru Saligramam. These houses the Saligrama Sila considered to be the naturally available form of Sriman Narayana (The Hindu Goddess head). It is also one of the 51 Sakthi Peetams. The central shrine of Sri Muktinath, predominant among all 108 Hindu SriVaishnava Divyadesam is considered one of the eight most sacred shrines for Hindu Vaishnavas known as Svayam Vyakta Ksetras, the other seven being Srirangam, Srimushnam, Tirupati, Naimisharanya, Totadri, Pushkar, and Badrinath. The temple is very small. Muktinath is one of the most ancient Hindu temples of God Vishnu. The murti is of gold and is tall enough to compare with a man. The Prakaram (outer courtyard) has 108 bull faces through which water is poured. It is of freezing temperature. The sacred water that flows in 108 pipes around the temple complex denote all sacred Pushkarini waters (Temple Tanks) from all 108 Sri Vaishnava Divya Desams including Srirangam, Tirumala, Vaikunta, where the devotees take their sacred bath even in the freezing temperatures. In Hindu astrology, there are 12 zodiac or Rashi and 9 planets or Graha, giving a total of 108 combinations. Also, there are 27 Lunar mansions or Nakshatras which are divided into 4 quarters or Padas each giving a combination of 108 Padas in total. The worship is conducted by Buddhist nuns. The waterway downstream from Muktinath along Kali Gandaki is the source of all Silas or Shaligrams that are required to establish a temple of Vishnu anywhere in the world. It is considered to be one of the holiest places of pilgrimage of Hindus, Buddhists, and Vaishnavas.
Day
01: Arrival Kathmandu
Arrival at Kathmandu International
Airport. Our representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu airport and
transfer to your hotel. Evening visit Thamel Market. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Thamel Market: The most popular shopping destination in Kathmandu Trip. It has numerous shops selling from Nepalese Gems and Jewelry, Woolen Jackets/Shoes, Nepalese Arts and crafts and almost everything. However, it is a bargain market and be cautious about duplicate copies of products of reputed brands.
Day
02: Kathmandu – Pokhara: On the way Manakamana Temple
After breakfast drive to Pokhara. En-route visit Manakamana Temple. Dinner &
overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara.
Manakamana Temple: Manakamana Temple is highly respected sacred Hindu Goddess Bhagawati. Temple is 140 kilometer from Kathmandu and on the way to Pokhara. The meaning of Manakamana is wished fulfill. So Manakamana is believed goddess Bhagabati reward pilgrimages who reach there are granting their wishes. Temple situated 1302 miters altitude overlooks the river valleys of Trishuli in the south and Marshyangdi in the west. The panaromic views of Manaslu, Himchuli, Annapurna rages can be seen from Temple.

03: Pokhara – Jomsom (By sharing basis Jeep / Scorpio / Bolero)
After
breakfast check-out from hotel & drive to Jomsom by another vehicle sharing
basis Jeep / Scorpio / Bolero of one them as per the availability. En-route
crossing Kagbeni, Tatopani, Ghasa, and Marpha. Upon arrival Jomsom transfer to
hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Jomsom.
Kagbeni: Kagbeni is another antique and scenic town in
Mustang, at the juncture of the Kaligandaki River and Jhong River. This
magnificent town is beautifully located with closely packed mud brick houses,
dark alleys, and imposing Chhortens. Kagbeni opens the gateway to Upper Mustang
Lomangthang, which is a controlled region of Nepal. Kagbeni is one of the most
sacred destinations for Hindu devotees, where they do Shraddha (memorial of the
dead members of a family).
Tatopani: Tatopani is a small town on the way from
Beni to Jomsom. It is dominated by lodges and hotels as it has a natural hot
spring site, where people prefer to have a bath that is regarded as a cure for
various skin diseases.
Ghasa: Ghasa is a small place, where have tourist check post, tourist have to show their permit.
Marpha: Marpha is an iconic Tibetan Buddhist village in Mustang. It is known as an apple orchard and produces a huge amount of apples every year. Antique-looking houses, colorful monasteries, viewpoints, facilitated guest houses, and a walking gully make this place a remarkable place to explore. Thakali people of Marpha offer Thakali food, which is just mouth-watering.
Day
04: Jomsom - Muktinath – Pokhara (By sharing basis Jeep / Scorpio / Bolero)
After
breakfast drive to Muktinath. Muktinath is around 25km away from Jomsom. Upon
arrival Explore - Muktinath Temple, 108
Divya Desam, 02 Kunda. After visit back to pokhara. Dinner & overnight
stay at hotel in Pokhara.
Muktinath Temple: Muktinath
temple is a famous holy shrine of both Hindus & Buddhists of the world.
The
Hindu believes that lord Vishnu got salvation from the curse of Brinda (wife of
Jalandhar) here. Therefore, he is worshipped as Muktinath (Lit. the lord of
salvation). "Muktinath" word is derived from "Mukti" and
"Nath". "Mukti" means "Salvation or Nirvana" and
"Nath" means "God or Master".
According
to Hindu Myth, it is a belief that this world is "MAYA" (an illusion)
of a life cycle of birth and rebirth. Everybody seeks to get rid of this cycle
and get nirvana. A visit to Muktinath will help to achieve this goal. There are
108 waterspouts in the backyard of
this temple called Muktidhara where
frozen water is continuously flowing from the bullhead and two Kunda (ponds in front of the temple). Taking bath in these 108
waterspouts and two Kunda (ponds) believes to bring salvation.
Day
05: Pokhara - Kathmandu
Early
morning around 5:30 Am. We will take to Sarangkot height for the Sunrise
and Mountain view - where you can the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South,
Annapurna I and III, Fishtail, Gangapurna, Lamjung
Himal, Manaslu and many
more other small peaks. After completing the photo shot at Sarangkot,
now time for Boating at Fewa Lake.
After visit we drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival transfer to hotel &
check-in. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day
06: Kathmandu Temple Tour + Departure
Breakfast
at hotel, and then proceed to visit Pashupatinath Temple & Boudhanath
Stupa.
Pashupatinath Temple: The Pashupatinath Temple, in Kathmandu, is the most famous and holy temple for Hindus in Nepal and a must visit place during Nepal Tour from India. Located on the bank of Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu Valley, this is the home of Lord Pashupatinath - Lord Shiva. The Pashupatinath temple complex declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
The Pashupatinath Temple Complex consists of 518 temples and monuments, out of
these, the main temple are of Nepalese Pagoda style architecture. The main
Garbhagriha, the innermost part of the temple, where the main idol placed. The
main idol is stone Mukhalinga, has four faces in four directions. The temple
has two courtyards, inner and outer. The inner courtyard is generally open from
5 am to 7 pm, and the innermost part of Pashupatinath temple, where Lord
Pashupatinath placed, open from 5 am to 12 noon for ritual and viewing. In the
evening, it is open from 4 pm to 7 pm for the ritual part. The Hindus from South
Asia can enter into the inner courtyard, and Indian Jain and Sikh community
devotees can also enter into the inner courtyard.
Boudhanath Stupa: Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. It is the center hub of Buddhism in Nemonasteries. Lichchavi rulers renovated the staple during the 8th century, which was made in the shape of Mandala. After sightseeing transfer to Kathmandu Airport to board the flight for your onwards journey.
