Manali - Keylong - Kaza - Tabo - Nako – Kalpa - shimla
Day 1: Delhi / Chandigarh –
Manali
Pickup from Delhi / Chandigarh Railway
station/airport and drive to Manali the valley of Gods. Manali is a combination
of natural splendor and rich cultural heritage. Enjoy the Scenic Himalayas and
the Beas river from the window of your cab. On the way you can have a stopover
at Sunder Nagar Lake, Pandoh dam on river Beas and Kullu if time permits. We
will pass through Bilaspur, Sundernagar, Mandi and Kullu on the way to Manali.
Overnight stay at hotel in Manali.
Day 2: Manali
After
fresh up enjoy Manali local sightseeing tour. Start your trip by covering
Hadimba Devi Temple and Ghatotkacha Temple. The temples are dedicated to Mata
Hadimba (the most worshipped deity in Himahcal) and her son Ghatotkacha.
Clubhouse will be next place to visit. Here, enjoy
Recreational
activities such as Skating, disco, zipline, TT and much more. Later bathe
yourselves in Sage Vashisht’s Hot Springs containing Medical properties. Right
across the Hot spring are temples of Lord shiva and Lord Ram where one can pay
a visit. Overnight stay will be in reserved Hotel in Manali.
Day 3: Manali – Keylong
After
breakfast drive to Keylong. It is Headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti district. Reach
Keylong over Rohtang Pass (3980 m). Enroute you will be crossing Rahala water
Fall, Marhi and some Lahaul villages like Khoksar, Sissu and Gondla. On arrival
check in at hotel. Afternoon visit to Khardong monastery & village. Evening
free to explore Keylong. Overnight in Keylong.
Day 4: Keylong – Kaza
After
breakfast drive to Kaza (200 kms / 10 -11 hrs) Countryside life. Drive from
Keylong to Kaza over the Kunzam Pass (4558 m) enroute visiting villages like
Losar, Hal and Rangrik. On arrival check in at hotel or guest house. Overnight
in Kaza.
Day 5: Kaza – Kibber – Kaza.
After
breakfast visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa
is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort.
It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit
the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m altitude has
the distinction of being one of the highest permanently inhabited village of the
region. Overnight in Kaza
Day 6: Kaza – Tabo
After
breakfast leave for Tabo visiting, Tabo Monastery. Founded in 996 AD by the
great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is known for its awesome murals and stucco
images – and is thus called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. Tabo monastery is
the largest monastic complex in Spiti embracing in its complex 9 temples, 23
chortens besides chambers for monks and nuns. There are several caves adorned
with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism,
Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing gompa. Overnight in Tabo.
Day 7: Tabo – Nako
After
breakfast drive to Nako. This place is popular for its lake that forms part of
the border of the Nako village. Enjoy the serene ambiance and picturesque lake.
Later, proceed to Nako Monastery. Talk to village people and enjoy the
hospitality extended by them. Reach at Nako. Overnight in Nako.
Day 8: Nako – Kalpa
After
breakfast, will be driven to Kalpa village (5-6 hrs.) Enroute we will stop at Recongpeo
and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district
headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local restaurant
where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After lunch we will
drive to kalpa (7 kms), you will check in to your hotel. In evening explore the
Kalpa Valley. Overnight in Kalpa.
Day 9: Kalpa – Sarahan
After
breakfast explore to Kalpa. Kalpa is a beautiful village located in the
backdrop of Kinner Kailash Mountain range. After visit onwards drive to
Sarahan. Upon arrival check in at hotel. Evening free to walk around the Sarahan
village. Overnight in Sarahan.
Day 10: Sarahan – Shimla
After
breakfast, drive of 8-9 hrs, driving through the beautiful villages of Fagu,
Theog, Matiana, Narkanda and Rampur. En route we will have many comfort breaks
and will visit the Apple orchards and Hattu peak (3,400 metres/ 11,154 feet) at
Narkanda, from where you can have a spectacular view of the mighty Central
Himalayas and will also visit the traditional wodden carved temple of Godess
Kali on the top. We will also stop by a small lake on the way to Hattu Peak.
Later on we continue our drive to Sarahan via Rampur and enroute we will stop
for lunch break and various picture breaks and comfort breaks. Sarahan – the
tiny village offers the splendid views of Shrikhanda Mahadev Peak (5,155
metres). The major attraction in Sarahan is centuries-old Hindu temple of
Godess Bhimakali. Steeped in legend, the temple complex is a resplendent
example of hill architecture. Sarahan is also the gateway to Kinnaur valley. Overnight in Shimla.
Day 11: Shimla local sightseeing
After
breakfast today enjoy the local sightseeing of Shimla. Today visit “Vice Regal
Lodge” of Shimla is a heritage building this is situated on the Observatory
Hill of Shimla. The building now serves as the Indian Institute of Advanced
Study (IIAS). “Christ Church” Shimla built in 1857 in the neo – Gothic style.
And also visit Gaiety Theatre, Scandal Point and famous Sankat Mochan Temple.
The evening time is free to explore the famous “The Mall”. Overnight in Shimla.
Day 12: Shimla – Chandigarh / Delhi
After breakfast drive to Chandigarh / Delhi. Upon arrival in Chandigarh / Delhi transfer to Airport / Railway station.
