India and Nepal Buddhist Tour

Day 01:  Arrival Delhi

Arrive at Delhi Airport Welcome to India! You will be met at the airport by representative. Upon arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi. 

Day 02: Delhi – Agra – Sankasia

Breakfast at hotel then proceed to Agra. On arrival lunch at hotel then Proceed for the sightseeing of Agra city first visiting one of the world’s most popular monument – Taj Mahal (it is closed on every Friday) built by Mughal Emperor Shah- Jehan for his Empress Mumtaj Mahal. The construction believed to have taken 22 years to complete with over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. After visit proceed to Sankasia. Upon arrival onwards transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Sankasia.

Day 03: Sankasia – Lucknow – Sravasti

Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to visit Sankasia visit a small Temple of Maya Devi in Sankasia reinstates the legends associated with Lord Buddha. Here, the mother of Lord Buddha is worshipped as a goddess of fertility. Buddhist sculptures dating back to Mahayana era also adorn the walls at the site.  The remains of Ashokan Pillar at Sankisa are also worthy of a visit. The pillar with an elephant in lieu of the usual lion is associated with the representation that Queen Mayadevi dreamt at the time of conceiving Prince Siddhartha who later became Buddha. The Buddha Temple: The most important attraction of Sankisa, the Buddha temple stands at the spot where the Buddha descended after His stay in the Tushita heaven. The temple houses a statue of the Buddha.  After sightseeing drive to Sravasti. Enroute Lunch at deluxe restaurant in Lucknow. After lunch onwards drive towards Sravasti. Upon arrival in Sravasti transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Sravasti.

Day 04: Sravasti – Varanasi 

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Sravasti: Sravasti was the capital of Kosala Mahajanapada in ancient times. Sravasti is also known as Sahet - Mahet. Sravasti is renowned for the supernatural feats showed by Lord Buddha, sitting on a lotus, and for other stories that are linked with Buddha. It is said that Lord Buddha spent 24 rainy seasons at Sravasti. Visit - to Jetvanaram and Angulimal Caves, After sightseeing transfer to hotel for lunch. After lunch drive to Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varanasi transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 05: Varanasi – Bodhgaya

Early morning Boat Ride at River Ganges, then back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast proceed to excursion of Sarnath (12 kms), visit Dhamekha Stupa is the most remarkable and massive structure at Sarnath.  Built partly in stone and partly in brick, the Dhamekha stupa is 28 meter in diameter at the base and 43.6 meter in height. The stone facing the lower part is decorated with delicate floral carving of gupta period. Tour continues to visit Deer park & Sarnath Museum (Museum closed on every Friday). After visit transfer to hotel for lunch. After lunch drive to Bodhgaya. Upon arrival in Bodhgaya transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Bodhgaya. 

Day 06: Bodhgaya 

After breakfast, full day sightseeing tour at Bodhgaya, visiting the place like Mahabodhi temple, - The Bodhi tree, situated in the premises of the temple, is the one under which Buddha attained illumination. Lunch at hotel. late afternoon visit to Sujata Kutir, Niranjana River various monasteries & temple, etc. Evening if group want to visit Mahabodhi temple to attend evening prayer or religious activities. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Bodhgaya.

Day 07: Bodhgaya – Rajgir – Nalanda – Patna 

05:30 am Early Morning visit Main temple to do religious activities, 

07:00 am breakfast at hotel, then drive to Patna enroute visit Gridhkuta Peak, at the top of Ratnagiri hill, where Lord Buddha preached many inspiring sermons, a Peace Pagoda has been built by the Buddha Sangh of Japan. Tour continue drive through Bimbisara Prison & visit Venu van. 

Lunch at Rajgir Hotel. Then drive to Nalanda visit ruins of ancient university; The site of Nalanda was one of the greatest monastic universities of the ancient world University established in 5th century BC. It is believed that Lord Buddha and also the founder of Jainism Religion Lord Mahavir taught at this university for years. There is even a monument to facilitate Chinese traveler monk and writer Hiuen Tsang who studied at this university in the 7th century A.D. After visit onward proceed to Patna. Upon arrival in Patna transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Patna.

Day 08: Patna – Vaishali – Kushinagar 

After Early breakfast, drive to Kushinagar enroute visit Vaishali. Vaishali is believed to be the First Republic of the World, having an Elected Body of Representatives Hold Special Significance for Buddhist Devotees. The Buddha Preached the Radha Sutra, The Eighty-Four Thousand Faithful Gathered There. After visit transfer to hotel for lunch. After lunch onward proceed to Kushinagar. Upon arrival in Kushinagar transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kushinagar. 

Day 09: Kushinagar – Lumbini 

Breakfast at hotel, then visit Rambhar Stupa - which marks Lord Buddha's cremation ground our second stop is Mahaparinirvana temple - which houses the recumbent figure of Lord Buddha, lunch will be serve in hotel, after lunch then drive to Lumbini (190 Kms / 05 Hrs.), (Nepal), on arrival at Lumbini transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Lumbini.

Day 10: Lumbini – Kathmandu

Early Breakfast at hotel then visit to the Birth place of Lord Buddha – Mayadevi Temple. Shakyamuni Buddha was born in Lumbini, in southern Nepal, two thousand five hundred years ago. Since his time, Nepal has been a sacred ground for Buddhist as the birth place of Buddha. After early lunch transfer to Bhairwa airport to board the flight for Kathmandu by YT-874 @ 1340 Hrs. Upon arrival in Kathmandu @ 1410 Hrs. onward proceed to visit some sightseeing place. After visit transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 11: Kathmandu + Departure 

Breakfast at hotel then visit Patan, Darbar square, Boudhanath & Swayambhunath & drive through city. 

Lunch & Dinner will be serving in Local restaurant then timely transfer to airport to board the flight for your onwards journey.
