River Rafting in Rishikesh

River Rafting in Rishikesh

0 Nights / 1 Days

Best Time: 1st September to 30th June. Starts/Ends: Rishikesh to Rishikesh. Duration: Single Day

KODIYALA DOWN: 35km (Recommended for adults only)

This trip is only offered when the river is running a bit high as it is not possible to run this stretch in one day. This is a grade III, III+ rafting stretch with one grade IV rapid which can be a flipper sometimes. Flip is when the raft turns upside down throwing us into the water. It is a 5-6 hours session on the river and has about 12 rapids overall. Some of the good rapids we run are called The wall (IV),  Three blind mice (III+), cross fire (III), Roller coaster  (III+),  golf Course  (III+), Club house  (III). The most exciting of all is The Wall as it flips the rafts upside down.  Rapids are safe despite of big waves. It takes about one hour to drive to the starting point and then another 30 minutes for the preparation and safety briefing. Once safety briefing is done, we can get on the rafts. In between we stop for lunch at Shivpuri for 30 minutes. We finish our rafting trip back in Rishikesh near Laxman Jhula and after a 5 minutes’ drive, we reach our local office.

Some of the good rapids we run on this stretch are called Three blind mice (III+), cross fire (III), Roller coaster (III+), golf Course (III+), Clubhouse (III). Rapids are safe to raft though there are some big waves and hydraulics.  It takes about 45  minutes  to  one hour to  drive  to the starting  point  and  then  about 30/45 minute for the preparation which includes inflating  rafts  and  safety  briefing. Once safety briefing is done, we get on the rafts. It is 2-3 hours fun on the river with some good splashes and big hits. We stop for some soft drinks and chips on the way.
