Ujjain holds a special place in Hinduism as one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri). It is renowned for the Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The city also hosts the Kumbh Mela, a significant Hindu pilgrimage festival. Beyond the Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain boasts other important religious sites such as the Kal Bhairav Temple, Mangalnath Temple, Harsiddhi Temple, and the Ram Ghat, where evening Aarti ceremonies take place. Visitors can explore historical landmarks like the Vikramaditya Temple and the Bada Ganesh Temple. The second Jyotirlinga you would visit during Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga with Mahakaleshwar Darshan tour is Mahakaleshwar which is located in the holy city of Ujjain. The temple which rests on the side of a beautiful lake is believed to house a swayambhu (self-manifested) Shiva Lingam.

Day 01: Arrival Ujjain & Sightseeing

Arrival at Ujjain Railway station & transfer to hotel by Travel with RV company representative. Check-in at the already booked hotel. The holy city of Ujjain set along the banks of sacred River Kshipra is considered highly auspicious for the Hindus. The city is counted as one among the ‘Sapta Puris’ or the ‘seven sacred sites of Hinduism’. Ujjain makes the venue for Kumbh Mela once in every 12 years. After freshen up proceed to visit the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga : Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, shrines which are said to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva. The architectural beauty of the temple and the highly ornate spires of the temple will leave you spell bound. According to myths, lord Shiva here assumed the form of Mahakaal to destroy a demon called Dooshan and to offer respite to his devotees from the clutches of Dooshan. Lord Shiva thereafter came to reside at that place to fulfil the wishes of his devotees. The placing of the idol quite unique in this temple; this is the only place where you get to see a south-facing idol of Lord Shiva. After Darshan at Mahakaleshwar, we proceed to visit some other important attractions of Ujjain such as Shree Harsiddhi Mata Shaktipeeth Temple: Shri Harsiddhi Temple is one of the ancient places of India. Situated near Mahakal Temple and dedicated goddess Parvati, Harsiddhi Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata Sati. Then proceed to visit Shri Chintanman Ganesh Temple: biggest temple of Lord Ganesha in Ujjain. This lord Ganesh is believed as Swayambu and three forms of lord Ganesha are seated together, which are known as Chintaman Ganesha, Ichhamani Ganesha, and Siddivinayak. Chintaman Ganesh removes worries, Ichhamani Ganesh fulfils desires and Siddivinayak gives Riddhi-Siddhi. This temple is built across the Kshipra river on the Fatehabad railway line. Visit Maharishi Sandipani Ashram: a prestigious center of learning at the beginning of the Mahabharata period. Lord Krishna and Sudama received regular education in the ashram of Guru Sandipani. Maharishi Sandipani's ashram is situated at Mangalnath road foot. Then visit Shree Kaal Bhairav Mandir: The Kal Bhairav temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to Kal Bhairav, the guardian deity of the city. Located on the banks of the Shipra River, visited by hundreds of devotees daily. After exploring these temples, we will head towards holy ghats of Kshipra River like Ramghat (one of the famous ghat) to enjoy boating (at your own cost).  After visit drive back to hotel & overnight stay at hotel in Ujjain.

 

Day 02: Ujjain – Omkareshwar – Indore 

Today early morning take part in the Morning Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar Temple and later leave for a Darshan at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga: is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, It is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. It is on an island called Mandhata, near Khandwa city in the Narmada river. the shape of the island is said to be like the Devanagari  symbol. As per legends right at this spot lord Shiva had blessed mount Vindhya to turn into the region’s greatest mountain. Also, it is said that Lord Shiva made two parts to his lingam here. One part resides at Omkareshwar (whose name means "Lord of Omkara or the Lord of the Om sound") and the other part resides at Mamleshwar (Amaleshwar) (whose name means "Immortal Lord" or "lord of the Immortals or Devas") which is located on River Narmada’s opposite bank. After Puja and Darshan at the Omkareshwar temple, drive to Indore. Upon arrival transfer to hotel & check-in. Overnight stay at hotel in Indore.

 

Day 03: Indore Local sightseeing

After breakfast proceed to visit Lal Bag Garden & Lal Bagh palace: Lal Bagh Palace, also known as the Red Garden Palace, is historic palace. It is renowned for its grand architecture, opulent interiors, and vast gardens. Lal Bagh Palace is considered one of the finest examples of European-style architecture in India. Then visit Kanch Mandir: Temple of Glass, is a famous Jain temple in Indore, built by Sir Seth Hukumchand Jain. The whole temple is made of Glass pieces. Then proceed to visit Rajwada Palace: also known as the Holkar Palace or Old Palace, is a magnificent and historical palace palace in Indore. It was built by the Holkars of the Maratha Empire about two centuries ago. Then visit Khajrana Ganesh Mandir: is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. It was built by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar Dynasty. After that Evening visit Chappan gali (food Hub Street). Return back to the hotel. Overnight in Indore.

 

Day 04: Departure from Indore
Post breakfast you are dropped at Indore railway station / airport where our representative sees you off and you proceed for your onward journey back home with a clean heart, pure soul and lots of pleasant memories of this holy special tour.
